MAE D’AGOSTINO, ESQ. INDUCTED INTO TWO PRESTIGIOUS
TRIAL LAWYERS SOCIETIES:
Latham Defense Attorney One of Only 500 from U.S. to Receive Honor
from International Academy; Among Only One Percent of All NYS
Lawyers
Inducted into American College
COLONIE (November 7, 2003) — Mae
A. D’Agostino, Esq. of Latham, a partner in the Menands-based law
firm of D'Agostino, Krackeler, & Maguire, P.C., was recently
inducted into the International Academy of Trial Lawyers and the
American College of Trial Lawyers.
D’Agostino, who concentrates her trial work in the area of defense
of physicians and hospitals, automobile accidents and work-related
litigation, is an Adjunct Professor at Albany Law School and serves
on the Board of Visitors of Syracuse University College of Law and
Albany Law School.
“I am deeply honored to be included in two such prestigious
societies of trial lawyers,” said D’Agostino, who is also a member
of the Board of Trustees of Siena College. “I have devoted my
professional career to the trial of lawsuits, and I care deeply
about improving the standards and ethics of trial practice and the
administration of justice — goals of both the International Academy
of Trial Lawyers and the American College of Trial Lawyers. Having
achieved this lifelong goal, I am even more committed to the law
profession.”
The International Academy of Trial Lawyers, founded in 1954, and the
American College of Trial Lawyers, established in 1950, cultivate
the legal profession by promoting reforms in the law, facilitating
the administration of justice, and elevating the standards of
integrity, honor and courtesy in the legal profession.
Membership in both groups is very selective. The International
Academy limits membership to only 500 fellows from the United States
and demands at least 12 years of trial and appellate practice.
Meanwhile, membership in the American College cannot exceed one
percent of the total population of any state or Canadian province
and members must have practiced for a minimum of 15 years.
Invitations to both societies are based on the recommendation of
peers and trial judges. Qualifications for membership include
outstanding advocacy skills, exceptional ability and abiding by the
highest ethical standards of conduct.
D’Agostino has one son, Ted.
