D’AGOSTINO, KRACKELER & MAGUIRE WELCOMES KATHLEEN RYAN AS PARTNER

ALBANY (March 31, 2009) — D'Agostino, Krackeler & Maguire (DKM), P.C., a civil litigation and general practice law firm based at The Sage Mansion, has named Kathleen M. Ryan partner.

A resident of Clifton Park, Ryan devotes the majority of her practice to the defense of medical malpractice, personal injury and civil rights litigation.

Maguire, Esq., noting that Ryan also has experience handling product liability, environmental and matrimonial cases, physician contract, labor law and appellate work. “She brings tremendous depth of expertise to the firm and we are privileged to have her as part of our team."

Ryan, who was born in Troy and grew up in Poestenkill, comes to DKM from Carter, Conboy, where she worked since 2003. She began her career as an associate at Noonan, Troue, Gutermuth and O’Connor in 1986. After three years with that firm, Ryan and three other attorneys formed their own Troy-based litigation firm, O’Connor and Yoquinto, which later became O’Connor, Yoquinto and Ryan.

During her 23-year legal career, she has lectured for the New York State Bar Association on numerous topics relating to civil litigation, including “Medicine in the Courtroom.” Ryan is also a frequent speaker at hospitals and nursing organizations on medico-legal topics.

An active member of the Capital Region community, she has served on the board of the Legal Aid Society, Troy Rehabilitation & Improvement Program, Community Gardens, Commission on Economic Opportunity, and Rensselaer County Children’s Center.

Ryan, a past president of the Capital District Trial Lawyers Association, is a member of the Albany County, Rensselaer County and New York State Bar Associations, as well as the Defense Research Institute. She was a representative to the New York State Bar Association Trial Lawyer's Sections.

Ryan is a graduate of SUNY Buffalo and Albany Law School and is admitted to practice in New York and before the United States District Courts for the Northern District of New York.
