D'AGOSTINO, KRACKELER, & MAGUIRE NAMES NELLIS KENNEDY ASSOCIATE ATTORNEY

ALBANY (October 2, 2008) — D'Agostino, Krackeler, Baynes & Maguire, P.C., a civil litigation and general practice law firm based at The Sage Mansion, recently named Rebekah Nellis Kennedy associate attorney. In her new position, the Bethlehem resident will focus on civil litigation, primarily motions and appeals.

Nellis Kennedy comes to the firm having previously worked as an appellate court attorney for the Supreme Court, Appellate Division, Third Judicial Department, where she conducted extensive research in many areas of law, drafted reports analyzing cases pending on appeal, recommended dispositions to the court, and edited court decisions.

Before graduating magna cum laude from Albany Law School of Union University in 2007, she furthered her legal experience by practicing with the Albany Law Clinic & Justice Center's Family Violence Litigation Clinic. In that capacity, Nellis Kennedy represented victims of domestic violence in family law cases in Albany and Rensselaer County Family Courts.

During her law studies, she also completed internships with the Hon. William A. Carter in Albany City Court and the Special Victims Unit at the Albany County District Attorney's Office, took part in numerous Moot Court activities and worked as a professor's research assistant.

Nellis Kennedy, who earned an undergraduate degree in criminal justice and sociology from the University at Albany in 2004, is a member of the American and New York State Bar Associations, as well as the Capital District Women's Bar Association, where she serves on the diversity and gender fairness committee.

She is admitted to practice in New York State and the United States District Court for the Northern District of New York.


D'Agostino, Krackeler, & Maguire, P.C. was founded by four seasoned litigators in 1997.  Located in the The Sage Mansion in Menands, the firm has six partners and two associates who have a mix of legal expertise and are admitted to practice in all State courts of New York as well as the United States District Court for the Northern District of New York.  Its two appellate partners, meanwhile, are admitted to the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit and the Supreme Court of the United States.
